beIN Reveals Ramadan Programming
Elisabeta Kadrija, Mar 07, 2024
beIN MEDIA GROUP (“beIN”), the leading global sports and
entertainment broadcaster, has announced a diverse lineup of programming to
enjoy this Ramadan for its subscribers across the Middle East & North
Africa (MENA). beIN’s specially curated content for the holy month ranges from original
drama series Zaman Al Ajaj to mouthwatering culinary original shows with
Sarah El Gindy, Bader AlShayji and Nermeen Wahby, as well as a host of animated
and educational content for children. All the below shows follow MECCA
timing, with each show airing daily on their respective channels.
Premiering at 21:00 on the
first night of Ramadan on beIN DRAMA 1, the new month-long original drama Zaman
Al Ajaj, produced by the acclaimed Abdullah Boushahri, follows the story of
Wijdan (played by talented actress Mona Hussein), a woman seeking refuge from
her abusive father in a seemingly idyllic village. Wijdan infiltrates the
village until she gets to the village leader, Geith (played by the acclaimed
Jassim Al Nabhan), and his brother Hamza (portrayed by Hussain Almahdi). As the
series unfolds, viewers will witness Geith's attempts to navigate through the
conspiracy to ensure justice is restored, all while managing the complex web of
relationships and alliances within the village. The series consists of 30
episodes each lasting 45 minutes and is available in Arabic with English,
French, Arabic and Turkish subtitles available.
Other series set to air
this month on beIN DRAMA 1, include Egyptian drama series Lunchbox, which airs at 20:00, and tracks
the journey of three housewives as they fall into a life of crime, followed by Syria-based
dramas Al Arbaji in its second season, in
which a charioteer who transports goods on a cart to support his family faces
injustice and hate from his brother’s wife, airing at 19:00, and Nokta Entaha, which revolves around a couple
working as pharmacists in Beirut who find themselves involved with the mafia,
airing at 22:00. Khaleeji TV series Qalam Resas will also air each night at 23:00, detailing the fictional lives
of a couple facing crises who find ways to improve their relationship.
Over on beIN GOURMET, viewers
can indulge in back-to-back culinary shows from around the world, including
three beIN originals. Nermeen Wahby, also known as Coach Nemo, will take
viewers on a 30-day journey to help transform their health and wellness.
Covering a range of topics from fitness and nutrition myths to healthy recipes
and mental health advice, 30 Days will see the Egyptian sports
nutritionist share some of her top tips for 30 minutes each day starting at
12:00 to ensure a healthy, happy holy month. Kuwaiti chef Bader AlShayji will
take viewers on a daily culinary exploration of the roots of some of the best
heirloom recipes from across the GCC region. Premiering on the first day of
Ramadan at 13:00, Bel’afya will run for 30 episodes of 30 minutes
throughout the holy month. For those looking to make their kitchen a happier
place, French-Egyptian chef Sarah El Gindy – better known as
Sara.in.the.Kitchen – will also host a month-long series of 30-minute episodes
of cooking and creative food styling. Airing daily on beIN GOURMET at 15:00, Wasfa
Saeeda will guide viewers step-by-step as El Gindy makes a host of easy Egyptian
recipes. All three culinary shows will be broadcast in Arabic with English,
French, and Turkish subtitles available.
Meanwhile, beIN’s younger audience can enjoy special programming this Ramadan on
JEEM TV, starting with season 4 of the JEEM TV original competition live show, Al
Faizoun at 16:00 daily. Religious animation Rise Upon Him airs next at
17:00 and depicts the journey of the Prophet Mohammed (Peace Be Upon Him), followed
by season 2 of This Is Islam at 17:55, taking viewers on a journey of
Islamic history and culture. At 18:10, Little
Gourmet encourages children to use their imagination with food
preparation to explore the different creative ways in which regular dishes can
be prepared, before Tijan Annour returns for a 12th season
at 19:30 with children from around the world reciting the Holy
Qu’ran.
Of course, beIN will also continue
to broadcast a host of elite sports from around the world during Ramadan across
its various beIN SPORTS channels. Whether it is domestic football from around
Europe’s top leagues, the UEFA Champions League and other UEFA leagues, AFC Champions
League, Formula 1, ATP tennis, NBA, or Padel, beIN remains the undisputed home
of sports in MENA.
