The Ministry of Public Health has outlined the vaccination requirements for individuals planning to undertake the Hajj pilgrimage to Saudi Arabia. The guidelines specify both mandatory and recommended vaccinations. According to the ministry, the conjugate quadrivalent (ACWY) vaccine against meningococcal meningitis is compulsory for all individuals aged one year and above. For infants between 6 and 12 months, the vaccine should be administered twice, with a two-month gap between the doses.

Additionally, the ministry has recommended several other vaccines. These include the seasonal influenza vaccine for those aged 6 months and older, the pneumococcal vaccine for individuals aged 65 and above as well as those at high risk, and the SARS-COV-2 (COVID-19) vaccine for all individuals aged 12 and above.

The Hajj pilgrimage for the year 2024 is anticipated to commence on June 14 and conclude on June 19, 2024. However, it is important to note that these dates are approximate and may vary slightly depending on the Islamic lunar calendar.
