In a significant stride towards simplifying and enhancing the tourism experience, Qatar has successfully streamlined its visit visa procedures through the innovative Hayya platform. The move has not only facilitated smoother entry for visitors but has also contributed to the remarkable growth of the country's tourism sector.

Qatar, known for its progressive approach, now offers visa-free entry to nationals of 101 countries, while others can conveniently obtain an e-visa through the user-friendly Hayya platform. As a testament to its commitment to hosting major global events, the government has extended the validity of Hayya visas issued to World Cup fans until February 24, 2024.

Visitors have expressed their appreciation for the efficiency of the visa application process. Rizwan, a resident of Saudi Arabia, shared his positive experience, stating, "It took me just a few minutes to apply for a visa through the Hayya platform, and I received the visa via email within 24 hours." He further commended the smooth immigration process at Hamad International Airport, emphasizing the friendly and efficient staff.

Muhammad Raheem, a UK national, echoed the sentiment, praising the ease of the transit visa process during his recent visit to Qatar with his family. Despite a limited time window of 17 hours, they were able to explore the city, visit friends, and experience various attractions.

Kamran Yousaf, a senior journalist from Pakistan, shared his awe at the transformation Qatar has undergone in recent years. "The skyscrapers, modern infrastructure, mass transportation system, and, on top of it, the safest environment, make Qatar the most attractive package for any tourist," he remarked.

As Qatar's winter tourism season unfolds, public spaces such as Doha Port, the Corniche, The Pearl Island, and Lusail marina promenade have emerged as top attractions. Doha Port, in particular, is drawing crowds with its pleasant weather and the spectacle of mega cruise ships docking at the Grand Cruise Terminal.

The ongoing Expo 2023 Doha and upcoming mega sports and cultural events in 2023 and 2024 are pivotal in driving the growth of the tourism sector. Key events on the horizon include the AFC Asian Cup Qatar 2023, Katara International Arabian Horse Festival, MotoGP Grand Prix of Qatar 2024, and the Qatar Economic Forum 2024.

With a blend of streamlined visa processes, modern infrastructure, and a calendar full of exciting events, Qatar continues to position itself as a must-visit destination for global tourists.
