On Thursday, February 15, 2024, His Highness (HH) Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, the Amir, welcomed the Prime Minister of the Republic of India, His Excellency (HE) Narendra Modi, for an official discussion at the Amiri Diwan.

During the session, HH the Amir extended a warm welcome to HE Prime Minister Modi and his accompanying delegation, expressing hopes for the further development of Qatari-Indian relations across various sectors to meet the aspirations of both friendly nations.

In response, HE Prime Minister Modi conveyed his gratitude to HH the Amir for the gracious reception and generous hospitality, emphasizing the desire to enhance relations between the two countries on broader levels.

Discussions between the two leaders centered around joint cooperation in economic, investment, development, and energy sectors. Additionally, they exchanged views on key regional and international issues of mutual concern.

The session was attended by several dignitaries, including Chief of the Amiri Diwan HE Sheikh Saud bin Abdulrahman Al Thani, and Minister of State for Energy Affairs HE Saad bin Sherida Al Kaabi, among others, representing Qatar. On the Indian side, attendees included Minister of Foreign Affairs HE Dr. Subrahmanyam Jaishankar and National Security Advisor HE Ajit Doval, among other officials.

Following the talks, HH the Amir hosted a luncheon banquet in honor of HE the Indian Prime Minister and his delegation.

The official visit of HE the Prime Minister of India was marked by an official reception ceremony upon arrival at the Amiri Diwan, underscoring the significance of the diplomatic ties between Qatar and India.
