Logo of AFC Asian Cup Qatar 2023
Maribel Saad, Jan 17, 2024
The AFC Asian Cup Qatar 2023™ seamlessly integrates the silhouette of the iconic AFC Asian Cup™ trophy with unique cultural elements, creating a visual masterpiece that reflects the tournament's spirit.
Cultural Harmony in Design:
Inspired by Qatar's rich heritage, the logo's lines draw from the majestic falcon's feathers and the petals of Asia's indigenous lotus flower. The falcon, symbolizing historical significance in Qatari culture, and the lotus flower, representing resilience and elevation, are unified by their ability to rise above – mirroring the aspirations of the participating teams.
National Pride and Calligraphic Elegance:
At the logo's summit proudly sits Qatar's national color, maroon, symbolizing the nation's identity and passion for the sport. The typography, influenced by Arabic calligraphy, pays homage to the nation's language, creating a harmonious blend of tradition and modernity.
Diamond Dot Symbolism:
A distinctive diamond shape adorns the logo's tail, reminiscent of the Arabic "nuqta" or dot, symbolizing clarity in Arabic writing. This elegant touch adds depth and symbolism to the overall design, representing precision and clarity in the tournament's representation.
Leadership Perspectives:
Shaikh Salman bin Ebrahim Al Khalifa, AFC President, commended the logo's design, emphasizing its role in engaging millions of passionate Asian football fans and showcasing the essence of the AFC Asian Cup™ trophy. H.E. Shaikh Hamad bin Khalifa bin Ahmed Al Thani, President of the Qatar Football Association, expressed excitement for hosting the tournament, underscoring football's unifying power and its potential to leave a lasting legacy.
