Setting Sail: Mwani Qatar Celebrates Record-Breaking Cruise Season

Mwani Qatar celebrated a record-breaking 2023-24 cruise season with over 378,000 passengers arriving on 73 vessels, showcasing Qatar's booming maritime tourism sector.

Mwani Qatar has unveiled the remarkable success of Qatar's maritime tourism, revealing that the 2023-24 cruise season has surpassed all expectations. With an impressive turnout of over 378,000 passengers aboard 73 vessels, this season has witnessed a remarkable 38 percent surge in visitor numbers compared to the previous year. Additionally, there has been a notable 33 percent increase in the number of ships docking at Qatar's ports, further highlighting the growing popularity of maritime tourism in the region.


"This achievement underscores the pivotal role of the port in bolstering the tourism sector, in line with the objectives outlined in Qatar's National Vision 2030," affirmed Mwani Qatar in a statement shared on X platform. The remarkable growth in cruise tourism reflects Qatar's commitment to diversifying its economy and promoting sustainable tourism initiatives.


Spanning from October 2023 to April 2024, the 2023-24 cruise season was anticipated to host nearly 80 cruise calls, with an estimated 350,000 passengers expected to disembark. This season marked a historic milestone as the largest and most successful cruise season in Qatar's history, further solidifying its position as a premier destination for maritime tourism in the region.
